Mr. Leon Wesley Broadnax, born September 24, 1944, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Green Acres Health and Rehabilitation in Milledgeville, GA. He was the son of the late Mr. Paul Roland and Ms. Annie V. Broadnax.
DeDuck, as he was so affectionately called retired from the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to being a professional painter, he was also employed with the Enterprise Aluminum Company.
DeDuck was the oldest child in the family. His caretakers were Lorenza Yarbrough (cousin) and Viola Yarbrough (aunt).
Leon leaves to mourn his passing a loving family which includes: two sisters, Patricia Roland of Lakeville, MN and Diane Peterson (John); aunts: Beadie Broadnax of Eatonton, GA, Estella Lee of Morgan County, Mamie Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia, Viola Yarbrough of Eatonton, GA, and Lillie R. Collins of Atlanta, GA; one uncle: Roger Broadnax (Mary) of St. Petersburg, Florida, one great-uncle: Randall Baines of Atlanta, GA; one great-aunt: Gladys Culp of Atlanta, GA; Godmother: Emma Jemison; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Putnam Memorial Funeral Home, Eatonton, Georgia 31024 on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM. The officiating clergy will be the Reverend Willie C. Jones, Sr. Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2021, 4-6PM. Funeral Services are entrusted to Putnam Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 105 Agnes Street, Eatonton, GA.
