On Tuesday May 16, 2023, God sent his angels and picked flowers from all over the world. When they reached Stockbridge, Georgia, there was a flower that God wanted them to pick. They went to Piedmont Henry Hospital and picked the flower known as Travis Lee Ford. Travis simply closed his eyes and went to his heavenly resting place.
Travis, the seventh of seven children, was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 11, 1960 to Miss Susie Lee Ford.
He was educated in Eatonton, Georgia attending Butler Baker and in Atlanta attending Brown High School.
Travis was preceded in death by his mother: Susie Lee Ford, his son: Walter Leonta Childs, his sister: Mary Alice Bussie; two brothers: Jimmy Ford and Percy Ford.
Leaving to love and cherish fond memories forever are his brothers: Charles Ford of Decatur, Georgia, Hulin Ford of Atlanta, Georgia; sister: Bertha Stewart of Stockbridge, Georgia; one aunt: Shirley Ford Farley of Eatonton, Georgia; one uncle: Hubert Ford of Decatur, Georgia; a special nephew and caretaker: Jerry Ford of Forest Park, Georgia; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. They all called him Uncle Trap and Trap.
The Homegoing Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, 1:00 PM at Zion Covenant Fellowship Church, 402 S. Oak Street, Eatonton, Georgia 31024 where the Pastor is Frederick Lowe. The Reverend Tracy Walton Rozier will deliver the Eulogy. Interment will take place at Jefferson Baptist Church Cemetery. The funeral home promotes adherence to the CDC protocol. Please wear mask and social distance.
